Epic mom fail three weeks in a row, led me to find this amazing shop! Forgot to order the right sized ballet shoes for my daughter and realized just one hour before ballet class. Was able to leave Capitol Hill and make it to this location in under 20 min- return time just 15! The associate was lovely and helpful and showed me several pairs of options in her size. Picked up a brand new leotard and sparkly skirt to boot. Thank god for small brick and mortar biz!

I cannot say enough good things about Washington Dancewear in Capitol Heights. The staff are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I'm a classically trained dancer myself who taught for eight years, so I can tell you authoritatively that these people know their stuff. My sister and I took my niece for a pointe shoe fitting last night, and we were thrilled with all of the colors that they had available to match skin tones, as well as a wide variety of pointe paints. When the shoe that fit my niece wasn't in stock in the right color, they offered to order and ship at a very reasonable price. We drove an hour and a half to shop at Washington and we will do it again next time.

This store is amazing! My daughter had a dancewear emergency, and the awesome woman working at this store saved the day for her. My daughter had a shoe crisis, and needed a pair of shoes for an audition the next morning. This was discovered at 7pm, and no stores near us were still open. It was going to be close if we could get there before they closed at 8pm, so I called the store. The woman who was closing on 2/9/2023, Shameka, assured me she would not close until we got there without me even asking for that. When we arrived right at 8pm, she unlocked the door and had what we needed in her hand waiting for us. We paid and I was on my way home with a happy and relived daughter in a matter of minutes. This is not the closest store to me, but I'll be going back there in the future because getting that kind of service is a rarity. Thank you!!!
